Your Nightstand Is Full of Marriage Books
Some of them have whole pages underlined. You’ve prayed over this, alone and side by side. And you’ve had the same conversation five different ways… gentler, then firmer, then in a long text, then not at all.
Every version lands in the SAME place. Somebody says, “That’s not what I meant,” somebody leaves the room, and you’re back where you started.
Trying harder was never the missing piece.

Why Your Good Intentions Keep Losing the Race
You promise yourself you’ll be more patient next time. You’ll listen longer and choose your words. And then the old ending shows up on schedule.
That’s how a pattern works between two people. It moves faster than good intentions, and willpower can’t catch it from the inside. Which leaves one question:
Who’s watching the conversation while you’re both inside it?
Your effort got you here, and the next part needs a guide.

Face Each Other While I Guide from the Side
In my office, the two of you sit face to face, and I sit off to one side. You talk to each other instead of through me, so the conversation stays yours. When the old pattern starts, I step in.
Disconnection heals through guided, faithful interruption. Each new response you try mid-conversation makes the new way more familiar.
The new ending gets practiced in the room, together.
Practice a New Way to Love Your Spouse
I draw on the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), among other tools, all grounded in Scripture. The break between you is spiritual as well as behavioral, so the healing has to reach both.
- Spot the moment the old argument starts, before it takes over.
- Hear what your spouse is really reaching for when you argue.
- Handle big emotions without shutting down or boiling over.
- Repair after a hard moment the same evening it happens.
- Invite prayer and Scripture into the hardest conversations you have.
As the new ending takes hold, the two of you start to get brighter.
Move from Repeating to Repairing in Three Phases
-
1
Getting to Know You
We talk about what brought you in, each of your histories, both families of origin, and how your relationship began. No judgment, just listening.
I learn where you’ve both been.
-
2
Uncovering the Core Issue
We get to the root: the pattern that keeps pulling you back to the same place. Then we disrupt it and build a new one, in session and at home.
The old loop finally gets broken.
-
3
Living the Change
The new pattern becomes your normal. Together, we define what graduation looks like, and you transition out when you’re ready, with the tools to keep going.
You leave with the tools in hand.
Why Trust Me as Your Partner in Healing
Gottman, EFT, and DBT in One Room
I blend Gottman Method skills for arguing and repairing, EFT’s focus on what each of you is reaching for, and DBT tools for big emotions.
Scripture Woven into the Work
Prayer and Scripture are part of sessions for couples who want them, offered gently and never pressed on either of you.
Ninety-Minute Sessions with a Licensed Counselor
Sessions run 90 minutes in Round Rock, Texas, backed by a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Texas LPC license.

Hi, I’m Roslynn.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Living Water Family Therapy. I help high-achieving Christian women, couples, and families who look “fine” on the outside but feel worn down, disconnected, or alone on the inside. I care a lot about the whole story of your life: your faith, your culture, your family, and the things you have survived, not just a checklist of symptoms.
In our work together, I am gentle but direct: I will listen carefully, tell you the truth with compassion, and help you make practical changes you can use in real life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and faith-integrated for those who want it. We might talk about Scripture, prayer, or your relationship with God, but we will always move at your pace and in a way that respects your story and your boundaries. I believe God cares about your emotional health, your marriage, your children, and your sense of purpose, and that therapy can be one of the tools He uses to bring healing.
Frequently Asked Questions
A skeptical husband is welcome here. Sessions give him the same room to speak that you get, and I won’t take sides.
Couples sessions are 90 minutes. That gives both of you time to talk through what matters and leave with something to practice.
My office is in Round Rock, TX, and I also work with couples from nearby Georgetown.
You share what’s happening in your marriage and ask any questions you have. Then the two of you decide on a next step.
Covenant-focused means the work starts from the vows you made to each other. Together, we look for ways to honor that commitment, even when it’s hard.
